Dr. Mominul Huq was born at Comilla, Bangladesh on 16 September 1944. He obtained his B.Sc. in 1964 and M.Sc. in Physics in 1966 from the Department of Physics, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He obtained his Ph. D. degree from the University of Sonthampton, UK in 1975 in Physics in the field of Magnetism. Then he worked as a post doctoral fellow in the Department of Physics, University of Leeds, UK from February 1975 to September, 1976. After that he became a lecturer in Physics, University of Mosul, Iraq and worked till August, 1978. In September, 1978 he joined in the Department of Physics Al-Fateh University, Tripoli, Libya and continued there as an Assistant Professor till August 1986. In 1986 he joined in the Department of Physics, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), as an Assistant Professor. He became Associate Professor and Professor in 1989 and 1996 respectively. He has been working in the field of Magnetism and in high Tc superconductor since 1986. He has supervised so far about 5 M. Sc. and 13 M. Phil. students. He is currently working on Magnetoresistance and Dielectrical properties of some Titanates and in Magnetic properties of Ferrites.
