I was born at Comilla, Bangladesh on 16 September 1964. I obtained B.Sc. (Honours) in 1986 and M. Sc. in 1987 in Physics from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. I completed Ph. D. degree from Hokkaido University, Japan in 1996 in Atmospheric Physics. I joined the Department of Physics, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka, on 26 June, 1996 as a Lecturer. I became Assistant Professor on 26 January, 1997 and Associate Professor on 15 August, 2004. I worked as a Post Doctoral research fellow in the Department of Bilogical Environment, Akita Prefectural University, Japan, from September 2001 to August 2002. I was the faculty of Hydrospheric and Atmospheric Research Centre (HyARC) of Nagoya University, Japan and working in the position of visiting Associate Professor during September-November 2007. From November 2007 I am on leave from BUET and worked in the position of Head, Synoptic Division, SAARC Meteorological Research Centre (SMRC). At present I am working as a Professor of Meteorology in the Department of Meteorology, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. I am doing research in the field of Atmospheric Physics since 1996. I have supervised 12 M. Phil. students. My present research interests are Climate Modelling, Monsoon Meteorology and Remote Sensing.
