Prof. Dr. Md. Rafi Uddin, Prof. Dr. Nasreen Akter and Mr. A. T. M. Shafiul Azam are working in this area. Research is concentrated mainly in the field of Satellite Meteorology, Radar Meteorology, Monsoon Meteorology and Tropical Cyclone. He is currently involved in "Japan-Bangladesh Joint Study Project" Phase II, Topic-I, Meteorology Section for investigating rainfall characteristics and diurnal variation of rainfall in Indian Subcontinent. The project is funded by Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA). He is also involved in a "Monbusho" project with Disaster Prevention Research Institute (DPRI), Kyoto University; funded by Grant Aid of Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport in Japanese Government, Japan, for investigating cause of natural disaster like flood in this region.
